N== Netflix--so I apologize in advance for that. Anyway, it does prove that if you trust bureaucrats to protect children, you'd be naive. One person interviewed on this show calls it the "Poverty Industrial Complex" that cares more about the bottom line of companies like Lockheed Martin. And, of course, we all know that many people who work for state agencies are also in it for the paycheck alone and also to see how little work they can do for said paycheck. This poor kid had all the telltale signs of abuse and nothing happened until it was too late.

The lead prosecutor in that case, Jon Hatami, is running for DA against gascon.
That case is interesting because Hatami went after the Department of Family and Child Services people as well, criminally, and secured convictions only for them to be overturned on appeal.
I’ll add it to my watchlist. I will report back if noteworthy.
