The new Wonka (2023) movie, which was a pretty good movie, had to do with all listed in the title. Wonka wanted to open a chocolate store, but the "Chocolate Cartel" gang (similar to Khazarian mafia), subverted Wonka's efforts throughout the movie. The "chocolate cartel" used money, bribes, blackmail, controlled the police, controlled the Vatican, and tried to even KILL Wonka in order to stop Wonka from competing with them. hmm, sounds so much like the [DS] doesnt.? JFK said "Infiltration instead of invasion. Subversion and conspiracy"
Not only that, it showed that the Vatican had a "secret bank of chocolate" and a vault of secrets underneath the Vatican. The chocolate reference made me think of adrenochrome to be honest, but yeah. Truth hidden in plain sight stuff. It was painfully obvious.
This movie was based on Roald Dahl's book, and it followed it pretty closely.
If RD knew about the DS, then so be it.
Bottom line is... every story has a good guy and a bad guy. Bad guys do bad guy things. Not everything is a shout out to the DS.
This was a very entertaining movie. I was glad to see it, as it lightened my spirits over the holidays. It is a musical in the traditional sense. We need more entertainment along these lines.
I just read the original book, the chocolate factory. I don't recall any cartels, Vatican or anything of the sort. Maybe in the following books?
No, you are correct. There is no specific mention of cartels, the Vatican or anything in the original book. The script for the musical Wonka was written in 2017, I think, after the producer acquired the rights to the Wonka story/names, etc. Although the new musical script has many ties back to the original story, it is a brand new story created to serve as a type of prequel to the Chocolate Factory story. So, OP is correct that the cartel, corrupt police, and church (not the Vatican) are new to the story. Do they represent the Deep State? I guess that's up for discussion and what the OP's post is about. I personally think that the script writers could have borrowed from "common knowledge" (thanks to Anons, actually) about these forms of corruption and evil to create the bad guys. If it's some sort of comms, or a shout out to the Deep State, then I guess I'll just eat some more chocolate and not worry about it.
Correction: I was ambiguous above. The musical's script is brand new, and has ties to the original book, but the bad guys are a new invention. I did not mean to imply that RD actually wrote about the cartel, or police, or church... I misunderstood OP's original message and thought there was an implication back to RD. Obviously OP was only talking about the new musical.
