What do you think of Alan Dershowitz?
To be honest I've never been that impressed by him (as a commentator at least, I'm sure he's a good lawyer.)
He just seems hyper-focused on Israel and holds a lot of liberal views. His support for Trump seems tactical. Plus the whole Epstein Island thing.
I'd like to begin by saying that this is not a defense of Dershowitz, or inappropriate behaviour in any way.
As someone who has worked in government and swung around in high-flying circles, a lot of times, good people are placed in compromising situations. Sometimes, they're willingly in it. Other times, a moment of weakness and a mistake is made. In all honesty, I've seen some very straight up and honest people get preyed upon by really egregious evildoers repeatedly until they make a mistake. Then, they have no choice but become pawns due to threats to their reputation or family.
I'm not saying Dershowitz is any of those, and it largely remains to be seen what side of history he will be on. But if there's any redeeming quality about him, then the good will forgive him for a moment of weakness, and allow him to offer his talents for the greater good of humanity. To err is human. The difference between us and the bad guys is that we forgive, rather than extort.
