I just had an "encounter" with an atheist Q supporter here. I don't believe he is a shill or anything like that, but the dialog got me to start wondering.
Trump is pretty clearly Christian. Q posted bible verses making it pretty clear that he or they are Christian as well.
Based on what I was told by my debate partner, we Christians are spreading stupidity across the globe, and he feels it is his duty to show us how stupid we are (paraphrased - not his exact words.)
So here's my question: If you vehemently believe that there is no God, no higher power whatsoever, and all of this universe is just random happenstance, then why do you follow Q and support Trump?
How do you reconcile Q and atheism?
I am very much a Christian but I honestly don't see Trump as a Christian. If he is, my apologies to him. I see him as ... Christian adjacent. Lol. What I mean is, he takes the tenants like being a decent person, helping your fellow man, etc. seriously, but I don't know if he's ever actually bowed down to Jesus Christ. Is his ego too big? Has he ever given it much thought? I really don't know. But I don't get the sense that he is a true believer. Perhaps Christian in a generic sense where someone who knows they're not Muslim or Buddhist or Jewish might say they are Christian - by default. I sincerely hope he does get more acquainted with Jesus, soon.
Even still, I think he will be a great president again. Even better than before. Just my 2 cents.
this question can only be coming from someone who has allowed the media shape their view about Trump. If his ego was so big, he would never have agreed to a plan where he is demonized, feared and loathed by half the people, by design, and spend so many agonising years without showing his true self.
Nah, it's precisely because he has a huge ego (and I didn't say there was anything wrong with that) that he can and has put up with all that crapola.
And btw, that was a stupid comment, suggesting I've allowed the media to shape my view. Just plain idiotic.
I received a verse from the Bible. Remember when they accused Jesus of worshipper of Beelzebub? And Jesus answered, "If Satan forces Satan out, he is divided against himself. How, then, can his kingdom last? If I force demons out of people with the help of Beelzebul, who helps your followers force them out? That’s why they will be your judges. But if I force demons out with the help of God’s Spirit, then the kingdom of God has come to you. How can anyone go into a strong man’s house and steal his property? First he must tie up the strong man. Then he can go through his house and steal his property. Whoever isn’t with me is against me. Whoever doesn’t gather with me scatters. So I can guarantee that people will be forgiven for any sin or cursing. However, cursing the Spirit will not be forgiven. Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven. But whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven in this world or the next."
So if DJT says the only book he reads is The Bible and he prays, then yeah I believe he loves Jesus. He could not get this far without love of God. One way to show your love of God is by loving his people. If his ego is his flaw like King David was a womanizer than that's his flaw. DJT is human and cannot be perfect.
My take on Trump is this: there has only been one perfect being in the history of man. There have been few that were close. DJT has been scrutinized up, down, sideways, inside and out. If there was one single thing they could pin on him, he would be rotting in prison right now. Guaranteed. DJT is not perfect, but if what is perfectly needed for the time we are in. I have heard people deride him by saying he cannot be Christian because he swears too much. I know many people who are really good people and Christians that heave known to swear occasionally. However, here is a difference: many of them either smoke, drink, do some kind of drugs, and some all three. Trump doesn't do any of those. Perfect - no. Christian - yes.
Also, for the OP of this post: there is no such thing as an atheist in a foxhole during a firefight.
Not drinking or smoking is hardly the definition of Christian. I certainly hope he is a Christian, but I don't sense that he is. That doesn't mean he won't be.
