I just had an "encounter" with an atheist Q supporter here. I don't believe he is a shill or anything like that, but the dialog got me to start wondering.
Trump is pretty clearly Christian. Q posted bible verses making it pretty clear that he or they are Christian as well.
Based on what I was told by my debate partner, we Christians are spreading stupidity across the globe, and he feels it is his duty to show us how stupid we are (paraphrased - not his exact words.)
So here's my question: If you vehemently believe that there is no God, no higher power whatsoever, and all of this universe is just random happenstance, then why do you follow Q and support Trump?
How do you reconcile Q and atheism?
Actually no. Where you are wrong is most people wanted to be left alone from the very beginning of politics being introduced. No where in the Bible does it say Republicans are superior to Democrats. Yet here we are. Q was very clear about free thought and ideas. Somehow, someway when the term biblical was mentioned, folks went all nuts. 63% of America is Christian and that number is dwindling, not rising. There is room at the table for other voices and opinions who share the same thoughts and ideas of wanting their country back, regardless of what you believe.
Yeah I get that.. everyone just wants to be left alone, liberty and all. I get that. I respect all beliefs as long as it doesn't harm children or anyone. But the reality is ..ughh.. too long to explain.. it's just impossible in grand scheme of things. But I get what you mean. I've travelled alot and love all the different cultures and appreciate their beauties and grace.
It's simple. Because you believe X does not mean you support Y or Z. The same for the reverse. "Liberty and all", yea that is EXACTLY what it is all about!
I forgot what the main point was.. lol but agree we all want freedom. I think what I was trying to say is the way Christians (true Jesus believers, not in label only) view freedom & righteousness and how other religions view freedom may differ. We all want to be left alone, true. Even atheist want to be left alone, security, and not be taxed to death.
Oh yeah.. how Christianity shape politics. You say that it should be separate. If so, an theist/buddhist may not have an issue with gay marriage while Christians or Muslims will have a problem with that. Abortion - how atheist/other religions view it differ from Christians as well. So I think in the end this is a neverending chaos. Also, underaged marriage/sex, and so on and so forth.
I agree on that end however our political system should not involve religion, period. The whole idea is politicians and local governments service us. What is happening now needs to be cut way back and get to back to basic essential services. "This is a dangerous intersection and we need a traffic light, trash pick-up, etc" is what government is designed for. "Some guy just broke into my house/car/business...." It's not for "Oh I want a Chrismas parade, or I want a gay pride parade or I want a Palestenian march"...... politics got involved because the politicians saw votes and where they saw votes they saw money to which they would corrupt the system in order to get them. Money = Power. Exactly where we are today.
