America is NOT OK! I feel we’re being pushed into poverty so that the government can sweep in and “save” us all at the last min. Most people live paycheck-paycheck, if they are lucky to even have a job. The middle class has disappeared and the lower class is living on the streets and in their cars.

My best solution, temporarily, is to buy an old school bus, or large van, and install a pot-belly. At least you can sleep on a mattress, and keep warm and cook some food. Also you can keep a few more possessions, than if living in a car. In the summer it helps to use a gas-cooker or barbecue, outside, to cook, otherwise you'll get too hot.
Potbellies can function on sticks, and drift wood from rivers (not the ocean beach, as it will rust out the potbelly)
Because there are wheels under your house, officials will try and move you All. The. Time, so it is advisable to keep the thing road worthy, which can mean sometimes paying nearly as much as rent, but at least one can park up somewhere hidden away, if not.
