Can someone explain what advantage a hand made ballot box has over one that is mass produced?

There is no advantage of a handmade ballot box. I interpret the mentioning of "handmade" to signify the importance of having a ballot box, meaning you turn up in person, vote and place your ballot in a sealed box, that is later opened under public scrutiny.
