Yes - remember King Herod? He was an Edomite - an Edomite King. He was a descendant of Esau. Esau married a Canaanite which God forbid them to do. He claimed to be "Jewish" but really wasn't. When he came to power he had 47 members of the Sanhedrin court executed and he put in his own people (likely also Edomites pretending to be "Jews"). The Sanhedrin were mainly all Sadducee's who didn't believe in the resurrection of the dead, heaven or hell, etc.
