That's okay, thanks. I know you're just following the rules. It just kind of stinks because it seems like there's a lot of off-topic and sh*t posts that stay on the board, and some of the really good info is vamoosed out of there. For instance, a few months back I had a hugely successful thread I started about getting super healthy. To me, that's not exactly Q, but it's Q-adjacent because Q would want us all to be at our healthiest and fighting best. There was a huge response from frogs and tons of good info being posted by people regarding eating right, supplements, exercise, etc. It was immediately stickied by one of the mods (I don't know which.) It was so popular, with so many replies, I thought it would be great to have a daily version. Seasoned, healthy anons could advise those looking to improve their diets, get stronger, lose weight, build muscle, etc. I thought it could motive everybody and be a sort of community morale booster. So the next day I asked, "with the mods indulgence" to start a daily health- living thread. .
Anyway, almost immediately it was canned by bonita for being off topic. How can one mod like something so much they sticky it and another mod remove the thread? That sort of inconsistency has led to a lot of long time posters leaving the site or cutting way back. (I've talked to some.) A few minutes ago I reported a post about a toddler being gang raped. It absolutely sickens me, the thought of something so horrific. It's very difficult to see that on the board. I would also say it's not directly "Q-related" but I bet it would stay up with a ton of other equally unrelated posts. Talk about lowering morale! How can anybody be so evil? It's just frustrating that something like that stays but something that actually helps people is immediately removed. Thanks for listening.
I'm sorry I've only just started to get around to answering this comment. It is a subject I have come across many times before and I have discussed it with anons and other moderators.
we have a general remit to remove off-topic posts to keep the forum concentrated and purposeful and it is left to individual moderators, within bounds, as to where the boundaries of off-topic are. So my boundaries are different to another mod's boundaries. I think that does have its advantages, it reduces group think, but it makes the terrain inconsistent for users especially if they are punished my one moderator for what would be acceptable for another.
We work at different times too, I have a particular job to do which is to go through in the US early morning and remove overnight posts which I can reasonably argue are not up to standards and I apply, for me, quite hard boundaries during this clean-up and I ease off at other times on removing posts.
That is why I removed your post, it was during my clean up. Had I left it, maybe the next mod would have removed it because they would likely classify it as off topic too, so at that time of day it would have likely been removed by one or other of us. At a different time of day, like late evening, maybe it wouldn't get aggressively removed. Such is the way the moderation works because different mods are on different shifts and with the best will in the world, we can't keep it entirely consistent.
Thank you for that thoughtful reply. I understand that moderating has to be a headache and I would never want to do it. I don't blame you for removing my post, it makes sense considering your guidelines.
I just know that there is a gap (that probably can't be filled) between posting something in a short-lived thread like General Chat - that very few people seem to visit) and putting it on the board.
You would probably agree that frogs like to ask other frogs for advice and recommendations. Not only are people here knowledgeable about Q, many are just plain knowledgeable. So if you need info, it makes sense to go to your frens, whether it be about stocks, gold, exercise, mortgages, what-have-you. Maybe a 'seeking info' thread would be a good idea. Ha! I know that wouldn't go over, it would probably be considered burdensome and relegated to the General Chat thread. Anyway, no hard feelings. I know you're doing your best and going by the established guidelines, and I appreciate that you took the time to send this thoughtful reply. Take care.
Hi fren.
Can you make this kind of request in the daily post please?
https://greatawakening.win/p/17s5fcVRcD/general-chat-for-thu-jan-11/
It slides the forum.
Alright, I will. But the problem with the general chat thread is that hardly anybody sees it. That's why I put it in New.
Yeah, I understand.
It's my particular assigned job to go through New every morning and remove all the posts which aren't to standard.
I'd normally leave it up longer but I had to leave.

I'll write a little more later.
