The UK isn't an armed society like the US. People other than the army just don't have crates of guns lying around to hand out. If the army don't have AKs no-one does

Please can people use some common sense when stories like this come out

It is complete and total nonsense.

Just because the their army doesn't officially use AK's doesn't mean they don't have them in inventory.
