The Staff of Aesculapius with the single snake was the symbol of the God of Medicine. Aesculapius was the son of Zeus---also known as the Abomination of Desolation that was set up in the Temple in Jerusalem and cause a revolution. The Staff of Caduceus with the 2 snake is more associated with commerce so they both have special meaning to Big Pharma.-
