I saw attrocities in Desert Storm. In 1994 I was put on Prozac. Since then I have never been off my meds...just changed to different names, etc.
There were days here and there over past 3 decades when i would miss a dose...and man o man it was obvious.
This last week i have been helping my brother move from 800 miles away back to my home. We took the train, rented a car, and then packed boxes, and a uhaul. I forgot my meds...Its been 6 days since i took my last dose of Cymbalta and i have been through sucky physical withdrawals... There's one good thing though, i have slept so good...even on the floor (im 60 years old..thats not easy)
Yet, i have suffered.. so i looked up an answer just now to try to understand some of these withdrawal symptoms and this amazed me but shouldn't have. I DO have all my receipts bookmarked if anybody needs them.
Eccerpt from LinkedIn: "Neuroscience News 424,436 followers
Antidepressant Withdrawal Should Be Taken Seriously
It can take nine months or more for people who have used antidepressants for the long term to find relief from withdrawal symptoms. Researchers address the common symptoms of antidepressant withdrawal and steps to take to help improve symptoms."
Then I typed into my browser: "what vitamins help with cynbalta withdrawal "
WOW!!! I am now feeling really violated Look how much is done in our brains...synthetically... i mean ...crap, frens...
"Vitamin B12, along with Vitamins B3 and B9, not only helps lower homocysteine levels but helps convert it back to methionine. This is then converted into SAMe, which is best known as a methyl-donor. This can help restore and regulate neurotransmitter levels in the body and ease depression. Mar 26, 2023
This is just the tip of this particular rabbit hole for me. Just thought id better get this thread started just in case someone else is out there feeling as bewildered as i am right now...in between the bad withdrawals I'm dealing with in the bathroom ..both face first and the other way.... this sucks.
But...I am better... I don't want to take any more of ths med
B Complex, and perhaps especially B9, is important for you (and all of us).
I see elsewhere on this thread that folks are talking about iodine. I support that fully. Please add it. It will help you in many ways.
As soon as you can, walk away from SSRIs and never look back. They are not your friends.
I send my best wishes on your journey to the top of the mountain.
P.S. If your PTSD (you mentioned "atrocities") is haunting you, please consider strongly the idea of taking psilocybin (once a year, typically) to reset the brain from eating itself. Many have seen great relief. MDMA and LSD work as well, but I think psilocybin may be superior to both and easier and safer (compared to LSD). Our ancestors have used this for thousands of years. Indeed, it may in a way be "in your DNA" to work with this chemical.
As always, seek to find a local person who can work with you on this and help you make decisions.
A word of caution, a veteran I lost contact with told me once that if the VA were to find out about psychedelic use, the veteran could lose any VA disability compensation benefits. I do not know if this is the case now, in 2024, as my friend told me this over a decade ago. I'm not saying this to steer you away from certain medicines, but rather to encourage you to be in a trusting group of people and to do your research before you ingest anything. There are a lot of weirdos out there that could lace anything with anything, so just be careful. Even good intentions can sometimes have bad outcomes, but that's life, eh? Wishing you the best.
Your comment about tainted drugs is also very well made. Especially in today's "market", who knows what that "MDMA" has in it. It's probably Crystal Meth and some Fentanyl. These people are demons.
Making these drugs (LSD, MDMA, Psilocybin, etc.) all Schedule 1 drugs in the USA is pure corporatism and serves only to hurt the advancement of medicine. I am not one for "legalize everything!", as we've seen that typically doesn't work out for the better. But a scientist being able to study these, and a doctor being able to prescribe these, should be allowed under specific conditions.
Much appreciated. I only know a bit about the VA, and what I know I don't like.
The VA is evil. Well....the woke part.
