LOL, this country alone has 140 official air radiation monitors. You can bet we aren't the only nation with these. Plus all the amatuer folks. You aren't silencing them all quickly.
Also, don't you think massive levels of radiation aloft might cause interference and noticeable problems for commercial air traffic? Go check the flight trackers, there are planes aloft everywhere. And if you think they're faking that too they wouldn't be able to fool all the people on the ground waiting to board and takeoff.

That's the long and short of it. Without shutting down the entire Internet, amateurs will detect any meaningful radiation the second it arrives. If there is any.
