If you use uBlock Origin adblocker, you can bind the "zap" function to a keyboard shortcut in the browser settings (I have it set to alt-z).
The when you see shit that gets in the way, you can tap the shortcut and then delete the offending popover. It quite often has several layers.. just have to keep zapping until it's gone. I use it all the time.. quite handy.

I do use unlock, cannot go on the net without. However, I'm on the phone now, so keyboard shortcuts don't work ...
