At least the lunatic would-be overlords seem to be getting a little smarter about naming their apocalyptic pathogens. I mean, Monkey Pox was never going to be taken seriously. It sounded too cute and was endlessly meme-able.
On second thought, “a little smarter” might be overly charitable because I don’t think joining the X-craze in naming things quite works, either. Aside from highlighting a severe lack of imagination within the evil genius community, “Virus-X” has all the wow-factor of a worn-out movie franchise no one goes to see anymore (because it got all woke and sassy).
I can't see that big-voice wall-to-wall hysterical coverage from the media is going to sell it this time, but not because people are realizing that covid was a murderous depopulation scheme. It's because the name of the new murderous depopulation scheme has embarrassing connotations. Saying, “I got the X,” sounds like it was really a venereal disease I got, and I don’t want to tell you. Good luck selling that.
