"Few of the amphibian species that occur in the Subarctic and in mountains are adapted to low sub-zero temperatures; most of these species overwinter underwater."
"One of the most fascinating species in this respect is the Siberian wood frog (Rana amurensis Boulenger, 1886), distributed in cold regions of Siberia, including the northern Subarctic and southern Arctic (to 71°N) and easternmost regions (to 154°E)" Ribbit! 🇺🇸
It feels like Siberia here in Texas. And the heat went out in the master bedroom. (Yes, I'm still calling it a master). But I love sleeping in the cold under an electric blanket.
That's a different take on "staying frosty" but despite the nation wide freeze, our frens Always find a way to stay cozy!
Also I sincerely Hope that heating issue is resolved quickly for you considering some of our southern frogs aren't as easily adaptable to the cold.
It hit -17 here this past week. Last night I was especially warm and comfy because I had just received my new flannel sheets from MY PILLOW. They make a big difference on these cold cold nights caused by climate change.
