Real Israelite would likely be genetically similar to Iranian/Iraqi s. Abraham was called out of Ur or the chaldeans and that was his heritage per scripture. He left with his wife, nephew, Lot,and nephews wife along with servants and herds and was directed by God to the land of Canaan. They remained genetically isolated until Abraham had relations with his wife's servant (Egyptian Hagar) and Ishmael was born. From him came 12 tribes who hated the descendants of his 1/2 brother Isaac, the son of Promise, through whom true genetic Israelites descended. They often intermarriied against God's instructions with various groups, some related thru Lot and his daughters. Also the canaanites and other people's there. Following the destruction of the 10 tribes of Israel those tribes were dispersed among the nations as punishment. Then Judah was taken to Babylon, returned 70 years later and rebuilt Jerusalem and Co tinued there until AD 70 when Rome destroyed and dispersed the people remaining as punishment for rejecting Messiah. The Khazarian theory makes sense as European jews are ethnically eastern European not middle eastern in origin. I have about 12% eastern European jew and tracing it back it's definitely my maternal side, back to one or two maternal great grand mothers from Germany. No one practiced Judaism to my knowledge in the family line so I'm guessing the women married non khazarian jews and never practiced that religion as adults. People who say they are Jewish today, most likely fail to realize their ancestors were converts not ethnically jewish/descended from Abraham.
