I have a few friends but I have to be careful not to express "strong views"...
My adopted son ignored my warnings about the clot shots and has had "long covid" ever since. Tried to tell him about meds but he has shut me out. My daughter lives in Seattle and is slowly starting to wake up, but I still have to limit what I share.
Extended family overseas have forgotten me. They are happy with nominal Christianity, materialism and don't want to know about getting saved. Hey ho.
Found a good church recently, that has given me some much needed fellowship. I try to go for regular walks and usually get to chat with a few people. Winter is hard to bear: I love being outdoors, specially on my allotment (rented plot for veg growing in the UK). Have a few long standing pals there, apart from that I'm pretty much on my own with the Lord. I count my blessings and am content.
Having spent a lot of my life alone I am used to it, though sometime I wish there was someone else to share a joke with. A pleasure shared is a pleasure doubled. Am I hopeful of finding a soul mate? Not really - though life can be surprising.
I had an old neighbour who went into a care home and met the love of his life. They married, moved into his cottage and enjoyed their last years together. Annie and Wally were the most devoted, happy couple I ever knew. So - you never know. There may still be a Mr Right out there to travel the world with, or just share a few interests. Live in hope!
Ah, allotments. There is a queue to get one in my south coast town, but I will have to cultivate an indoor veggie garden as if I grew veggies in my communal garden they would get stolen.
Yes, we have to be careful in what we say, I told one woman about DJT and she spread it far and wide that I was a conspiracy lunatic. Ho hum.
May I DM you as well? You story sounds like mine in some respects, some more friends would be wonderful, especially frog friends. God bless you.
We have a long waiting list for allotments as well, now people are only allowed half plots which creates all kinds of problems. I have a feeling that quite a few will become vacant before long as I know of only 1 person there who is a vax refusenik.
We had some pilfering when there were New Age travelers passing through in the past. Now we have professional gangs (thought to be Rumanian) who break into sheds and steal equipment. The swines waited a while for people re replace them and struck again - total B*******! They even took my neighbour's chair which his disabled wife used. Rotters.
Thankfully my plot was spared. I think that was due to the fact that I was nice to the young woman who visited a couple of times before the raids. Looking back, she was definitely doing a recce: she playfully chased her little girl down various paths. I thought it was odd at the time. Of course - the police weren't interested.
Message me by all means, happy to make new friends :)
