I think most Gospel based comments get upvoted on GAW. However, as a newish Christian myself, I've come to understand that much of the Christianity today being preached is a form of cultural Christianity....rather than being counter-culture as we're called to do. The synagogue of satan tiny hat brigade has done quite a number on us, absolutely.

The modern conservatives who can't draw a single line in the sand are part of the problem. The modern conservative has failed to conserve a majority of the traditional values that made this nation so great. They're okay with transgenders, homosexuals, drug use, fornication, etc so long as they say the right slogan.

Fully agreed here. However, I will say that there are many Trump supporting conservatives in his base, who are not believers in Christ, that really should be. And the reverse is true of that - there are believers in Christ who should be supporting Trump and they still believe "Orange man bad" fake news lies (I go to a church filled to the brim with them). And that would go back to the way Christianity is preached today, sadly.
