Let's be real; most military are PATRIOTS.

And that probably goes for the recruiters as well (maybe even more so).

As a patriot and veteran myself, I couldn't righteously sell getting into the military today. Not with our current Commander-In-Chief and current military/political/geopolitical climate.

So of course they would see the humor in the post.
