President Trump said this back in 2019 and it seems to have taken on a greater significance year after year.

What's your interpretation of his statement?

In this context, he's arguing with the media and just before this he says someone had to do it... Someone had to do it... Before looking away and saying "I am the chosen one" ...to take on China.

Meaning it falls to him to deal with it because nobody else has
