There has been very little news out about Lahaina, just basics like missing children, fires, blockading escape routes and then nothing after about 2 days!
What are you talking about? My step brother lives there, he got out pretty fast due to his home being on the edge of the area. I watched the news nonstop coming out of there, especially from locals on twitter. My step brother sent me tons of links to different reports.
He recently told me that the count of missing people is only 4. The reason a few hundred kids didn't register for school is because their homes burned down and they moved to another part of the island and registered there.
There's an easy way to test this, look up the public school numbers for the island and find their registration numbers for this year. The ones in Lahaina will be down a few hundred, but those numbers will show up at the other schools where people went to after they lost their homes.
I recently heard that they still aren't letting people go back in, and won't even let insurance adjusters in to confirm that an insured home is indeed gone. So, the banks are still wanting mortgage payments and/or foreclosing on homes that may not even exist anymore. That is just craziness.

This is not true at all.
