Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Looks like the flu or some bug has hit my family. My sil is home sick. He’s got most of the flu symptoms. As I type this I’m holding my granddaughter and she’s on her third nap today, temperature was 101. She will be one next week. So far she’s in a great mood even though she feels bad. I hate seeing a little child sick especially when they can’t tell you what hurts.
Yes, it is super sad when the little ones are sick. I suggest adding some vitamin C and D to her liquids, and to keep her well hydrated. Certain essential oil mixes can be helpful too. I like DoTerras on guard mix for rubbing on the little ones' feet. Have you looked into any homeopathic remedies for your little one? The Hyland's cold remedies and the Boiron ColdCalm are both safe for babies. I used it on my little ones when they were sick under a year old. Another really great thing to do is to have your baby eat goat milk if your baby is not being breastfed. You have to dilute the goat milk powder with the correct ratios so your baby won't have too high of a protein level for her to break down, and Mt. Capra has a goat milk formula recipe that is super helpful. I have experience feeding multiple babies the Mt. Capra formula recipe that you make for multiple years now. They are extremely healthy. Goat milk fat is so small that it has antiviral properties. Jeff Primack goes into the benefits of goat milk in his 2nd edition of Conquering Any Disease. Praying you all feel better soon. Keep in mind that the little ones have high levels of glutathione, so she shall recover soon.
Thanks for the tips. I’m very familiar with natural medicine. She’s breastfed and eats the food we eat. Never been on formula or baby food. Also not vaccinated. Her mom has some herbal cold medicine I’m not sure of the brand.
You're welcome. Anyway, the homeopathic stuff works great if you haven't tried it yourself or for the little one--try checking out the Hyland's cold medicine stuff and the Boiron Cold Calm stuff. I love their teething homeopathic remedies, and so did my babes. Cell salts help a lot too, but I don't know if they make this for children younger than 2. It sounds like you and your granddaughter's parents are doing well with her care over all--kudos and great job. I'll keep sending prayers and healing thoughts your way. Cheers!
Thanks for your prayers. Her mom is a nurse, mom & dad are very awake. Yes she’s limited to what she can have at this age. I’ve been using essential oils and herbs about ten years, I’m not an expert but manage pretty good. Mom is on top of what’s bad for kids.
