The spirit -filled man or woman is the Lords vessel. Understand that the ark, like the temple , is an inanimate thing. Just as the temple was subject to repair and upkeep( see Josiah) and was subject to decay( even though the shekinah glory rested in it)so too, the arks rings ,over the years of being stressed with the poles that carried it through the desert and into the promised land, would be worn with use, which said wear would testify to the faithfulness of God, having borne the journey with his people, who like the rings, arrived, though having been “worn” through the experience. Tough rings for a tough trip😊
