I think this more references technology like harnessing energy for free or being able to grow crops fast indoors for really cheap

This. Climate change\energy is how you control people and the world. I think this is why they are hiding aliens\advanced technology. They could give a fuck if we know about aliens. What they don't want us to know about is tech that would shatter their narratives and reasons for control.
