I though life expectancy back then was 50 y/o.
Yes, but this doesn't mean that people lived shorter lives. There was a lot of infant mortality. So if one person died at 100 and the other died at 1, the average life expectancy of the two was 50.5yrs.
Good point, I didn't think about that.
I think life expectancy is more affected by infant mortality than anything.
