He has wanted to interview Putin for a long time. He shared a story on a podcast interview not too long after he left Fox. When he was still at Fox, he was trying to get the Putin interview -"it is my job. Why wouldn't I want to interview him?" Apparently, he got a call from the government about it. The only other person who knew at the time was his producer. He apparently asked them, "How do you know about this? I haven't even told my wife." He didn't get a straight answer. I wonder how much of that contributed to his Awakening.
