A couple of things here:

-Several epidemiologists and oncologists have long posited that cancer starts via a virus screwing up the DNA of the cell, causing it to become cancerous and replicate out of control. So this isn't as out of left field as you may think.

-That being said, skepticism is highly warranted here for reasons I know I don't need to explain to any regular of this board.
