I understand this is about victim mindset and protesting. However, having self-love is good. I guess there's some balance that's lacking in this character.
Dignity might be a more useful way to indicate self love. Telling someone to have some dignity gives a different connotation, maybe even brings up shame when they recall undignified things they've done, as opposed to letting them wallow in them under a cover of self love.
