I dont think he has any control over the situation and the death cult definitely doesnt give a rats ass what happens to him after he withdraws. They may not even throw him a bone and allow him to absolve his family. They may just as likely toss him in the trash with the other useful idiots.

The only people who matter are those pulling the strings. Everyone else is a tool for tyranny, to be used and discarded when appropriate.
