Genesis 47:13-21 NLT [13] Meanwhile, the famine became so severe that all the food was used up, and people were starving throughout the lands of Egypt and Canaan. [14] By selling grain to the people, Joseph eventually collected all the money in Egypt and Canaan, and he put the money in Pharaoh’s treasury. [15] When the people of Egypt and Canaan ran out of money, all the Egyptians came to Joseph. “Our money is gone!” they cried. “But please give us food, or we will die before your very eyes!” [16] Joseph replied, “Since your money is gone, bring me your livestock. I will give you food in exchange for your livestock.” [17] So they brought their livestock to Joseph in exchange for food. In exchange for their horses, flocks of sheep and goats, herds of cattle, and donkeys, Joseph provided them with food for another year. [18] But that year ended, and the next year they came again and said, “We cannot hide the truth from you, my lord. Our money is gone, and all our livestock and cattle are yours. We have nothing left to give but our bodies and our land. [19] Why should we die before your very eyes? Buy us and our land in exchange for food; we offer our land and ourselves as slaves for Pharaoh. Just give us grain so we may live and not die, and so the land does not become empty and desolate.” [20] So Joseph bought all the land of Egypt for Pharaoh. All the Egyptians sold him their fields because the famine was so severe, and soon all the land belonged to Pharaoh. [21] As for the people, he made them all slaves, from one end of Egypt to the other.

Look, here is seed for you, and you shall sow the land. 24 And it shall come to pass in the harvest that you shall give one-fifth to Pharaoh. Four-fifths shall be your own, as seed for the field and for your food, for those of your households and as food for your little ones.”
25 So they said, “You have saved our lives; let us find favor in the sight of my lord, and we will be Pharaoh’s servants.” 26 And Joseph made it a law over the land of Egypt to this day, that Pharaoh should have one-fifth, except for the land of the priests only, which did not become Pharaoh’s.
27 So Israel dwelt in the land of Egypt, in the country of Goshen; and they had possessions there and grew and multiplied exceedingly.

Even though this appears as a blueprint for servitude I believe that Joseph was working according to God's direction to save the Israelites as well as the Egyptians. Joseph was a man of integrity and as much as we can read the negatives into the story this really preserved the people. I agree that today it can be used to enslave people because it is an effective way to steal private property but I truly do NOT believe that Joseph had such nefarious motives. He was a great leader and a Godly man and I believe this was God's plan and he was an obedient servant. When I recently read this in my Bible reading I did question the motive of Joseph but I believe Joseph was one of the most Godly men in the Bible so I think this is a circumstance where we accept what we know to be true about God and his earthly servants. Of course satan ALWAYS takes the good and turns it into evil...that is a given.
I did not mean to post that as any type of judgment of Joseph, only that the Cabal probably looked at it and thought, "That's so awesome. We should try that... but on a global scale!" It shows what happens when someone gets control of the food supply. I believe this is a warning to us today, and although people have been pointing out the WEF / Globalist plan to starve and enslave humanity, i haven't seen anybody mention the Biblical / historical precedent for exactly that.
I understand...you are correct that satan has taken something good from the Lord and used it for evil. I am glad you posted because this is exactly what they are doing...they sure don't miss a trick do they. It truly contrasts God's perfect plan versus satan's evil plans. This gave me more understanding and faith in God's dealing with his people.
The "fifth" part was a great deal even in today's standards. It was Pharoah's land they were living on and he even gave them the seed to plant for 20%. I pay a heck of a lot more than 20% in tax.
