The Publicis Groupe — one of the world’s largest PR firms1 that represents major companies within the technology, pharmaceutical and banking industries — recently agreed to pay a $350 million settlement over claims that its false and misleading marketing contributed to the opioid epidemic.
Previous court cases demonstrated how Purdue Pharma, maker of OxyContin, systematically misled doctors about the drug’s addictiveness to drive up sales, resulting in an avalanche of opioid addiction and subsequent deaths.
Pretty obvious who controls the fact checkers.
Addictiveness is based on the individual's strength of character or their intelligence. I have taken a related drug two different times in the past several months. I took it as prescribed, and when the prescriptions ran out, I stopped. I never felt hooked on it. It does work, and I may have to take it again, but I'm not worried about becoming an addict.
I agree. Some can and some can not.
Was this company also involved with promoting BigPharma during covid? If so, this settlement will likely be peanuts compared to what could result from lawsuits related to that.
The settlement should have been larger. How many billions were made ? We would need to check and see if they were involved in COVID.
$350 million isn't enough. Thanks for sharing, LP.
Amen, I totally agree. No thanks needed , always happy to expose these serpents.
The current opioid problem is the direct result of medical systems tying pain management to how much you like your MD. Press Ganey is the guilty facilitator. Lots of pain and you give the doc a poor grade, feeling good and he gets a 10. Hence there was much incentive to reach for the script pad to be popular with your patients.
Big Pharma pays rewards for those pushing their products.
True. These guys take perks at their offices too.
Not suprising to see them with both hands in the cookie jar.
OxyContin is dangerous stuff. Don't people die from opioid addictions? Shouldn't there be executions over this?
Amen, opiods are highly addictive and dangerous. Those addicted are buying off the streets and many run into Fentanyl and die. Appears all by design and connected to the depopulation program.
But they do help the pain of cancer like nothing else. I don't see how anyone is stupid enough to take something they got off the street.
But even prescribed people can become addicted. For those addicted their desperation can cause them to make bad choices.
Yes, some can. But others have stronger minds and better teaching. I am ready to go any time, so I won't be desperate for any medicine.
There are natural healers and not addictive or mind impairing. Look into wild lettuce and see what you think. Black Cummin seed oil and nettle leaf are a few more. Important is quality if you want the benefits.

Do the research and decide what is best for you.
I have wild lettuce in my yard, but I don't know if it's strong enough to help. You should see how tall it gets sometimes.
I suspect it should be.
Stinging nettle can cause arrhythmias in some people.
I have never came across arrhytmias as a possible side effect. Thank you. This is a example on what I have found in the past.

I tried one once, and didn't see any effect. Perhaps it doesn't work on me. I have taken a related medicine in the past few months, and the major effect was constipation. It relieved pain a bit, but gave out before it was time to take another. When they ran out, I couldn't take more, but I didn't go out trying to buy street drugs. I'm too old for that anyway. Cancer sucks.
