When she kept saying how much money she kept at home my first thought was she’s going to have a break in. We keep cash at home but it’s in a big ass safe that took four men to get it in the house. It might catch someones eye but they ain’t moving it with out help or heavy equipment.
By the way in the early to mid 1900s people did keep money at home because they didn’t trust banks. I read a novel based on facts about a former slave woman who had a mattress full of money when she died. My grandfather used to bury coffee cans of money. Unfortunately we don’t know where they are buried and it’s probably rotten by now.
Lenders for many decades have allowed undocumented cash from Veterans in home purchases. The technical term is mattress money since many Veterans have zero trust in the government.
Interesting! We go from not trusting banks way back then to full trust today. It’s crazy and sad.
