Was wondering if any anons know about the Philadelphia fire and records lost pertaining to ww2 troops.
Supposedly, my paternal grandfather parachuted into Okinawa before invasion. Seems insane, but not unbelievable.
His records were burnt and he died soon after to a drunk driver.
A year later, his brother died to a drunk driver.
Both liked to drink and talk.
So sorry for the loss of your Grandfather and his brother. God bless his Service! ππΊπ²
Many units have websites and you may be able to get info from them. Good luck & God bless! π
Good men for sure.
Our world is clueless today. Men that fought then, fought for common purpose.
Today?
It is so Fani Willis can get d8ck at the cabin.
Hate these people.
Didn't just happen in PA, but also a fire in St. Louis, 1973. Wiped a bunch of records there. Made finding info on my Grandfather (WW1 era) and father-in-law (WW2 era) very difficult. They actually asked me to send them copies of any documents I find..

St. Louis resident here. Yeah I remember the Records Center fire out on Page Blvd. It was big. always wondered what info went up in smoke out there.
That pisses me off.
For those unaware?
To parachute into Okinawa?
Mad crazy.
that I have NEVER heard.
Trust me, the assholes running WW2 were fully aware of my family.
People have no clue. Once you opt up for service? Your entire past history is on view to the dip ships that have no clue.
Our military has become a circus. All morons.
Just serve the higher command.
These are total retards.
My father was USAF and stationed in Germany after the war. All of his service records supposedly were lost during a "fire." All I have been able to obtain is his DD214.
They need the social security numbers.
