Everyone loved Trump in New York. Everyone wanted to be him. But then he shockingly won an election and ruined their 16-year plan.

Terms like "everyone" and "nobody" should be understood as Hyperbole.

Perhaps it would have been better to say that Trump did a lot of good things in NY, and people appreciated that, which is something I heard from more than one person who lived there.
