Could the whole military enlistment concerns be a ruse? It would make a lot of sense to spark a draft for the scare event thats coming...

Think of it this way, Military personal are given information on a need to know basis. So when a military personal says they haven't heard anything it's because they haven't heard anything that's how the military keeps things secret and the military is very good at it.
