Opponents of Karamo gathered petitions to call for a special meeting of the party's state committee and held it on Jan. 6, when the members present voted 40-5 to oust the chairwoman. Later, they selected Hoekstra to be the new chairman.
However, Karamo and her allies have argued the gathering was illegitimate and out of compliance with party bylaws because, they said, not enough state committee members participated. Karamo held her own meeting on Jan. 13, when the members who chose to attend that version voted 59-1 to keep her as chairwoman.
So, they held a backroom meeting to oust her. That's messed up. She seems like a good one. Maybe Trump will bring her onboard. I also hear the GOP might need someone to run things since that Romney creature is leaving.
Michigan might have really stepped in it this time.
