The WORLD is waking up to the importance of FARMERS which the left are trying to destroy. I am glad that people are finally taking an interest in where their food comes from. I do not believe that a Nuclear threat is real BUT if the threat of one wakes up people from their slumber....
But food is at the grocery stores, not farms you silly person
Our many adult children and grandchildren are some what fixated on our produce. Bigger, Better and Tastier. One small step....
You're correct and Holy shit what a fucking dumb world we live in when people by default don't have an understanding of the Supreme importance of farmers.
Have serious farming friends, BUT turning our 1/4 acre garden into a very productive space has left us in awe of their hard wok, talent but most of all patience and TEMPERAMENT. Weather, insects , rats..
Prices fluctuate and we just hope we get money enough to pay input costs— exorbitant— and have enough to pay mortgages, TAXES, repairs, machinery, hired help, living expenses. Farmers have a stressful job. They work weekends at planting and harvest, long days. Weather. Droughts, rain deluges, heat, cold.
When i was a teenage, maybe 40-45 years ago, one of my cousins (Debbie) had small homestead where they raised the majority of the family's food. My cousins sister (Vicki) refused to eat Debbie's farm fresh eggs because "they came outta a chickens butt". Both girls were raised in a small town, Debbie moved to the country and Vicki to the city. I don't think it was a case of intelligence as much as no exposure to the country on Vicki's part. I've watched my own kids and their peers and have decided its our own fault that they missed the boat on what rural life is all about. Many life skills have been lost.
