Its been awhile since this story was published, and Im sure its been erased from the net, so I dont know where to find it but I remember reading this article about a school in Pennsylvania that thought it would be a great idea to purchase their very own turbine. They mortgaged their future to buy and install this turbine with assurances that it would pay for itself.
Ten or so years down the road, maintenance costs became unaffordable and they never even came close to paying off the loans. Now it sits at the school inoperable as a testament to mans folly. The school cant even pay for its removal.
