The USSC has the opportunity with this ruling to lay to rest the whole notion that what occurred on Jan 6 was an "insurrection." This is the pivotal term for the 14th Amendment claim, and the CO case is based solely on the J6 report from the a committee which tried to establish the concept of "insurrection" If USSC says flat out that J6 did not rise to the definition of an "insurrection" the vast majority of J6 prisoners will have legitimate grounds to be set free.
