Sidenote, and this is no way intended to minimize the sacrifices made, but I dislike this "Gold Star" stuff. This is the United States of America, we confer no titles of nobility, and we should not recognize any citizens as being better or more special than any other citizens on the basis of having lost a child in service to this Country, or being a teacher, first responder, or former or active duty military.
