Another rabbit hole, but no time to do a deep dive. One of the hospitals the post doctor (who died suddenly) is affiliated with is the Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital.
Just a couple weeks ago an individual was arrested there for trying to impersonate a doctor. Apparently she was soliciting a bribe for her to attend to a patient.
Perhaps a decent jumping-off point if anyone wants to delve into who controls the hospital system in South Africa. Any of our South African anons who may be familiar with what's going on in their hospital systems can weigh in if they feel it's relevant.
South Africa, Dr Vicky Jennings.

Chris Hani was the leader of the South African Communist Party and was assassinated in 1993. The hospital was dedicated to this communist leader.
