Pleae forgive me, i am ignorant to new movies and hollywood as a whole, however tonight i have sat down to watch the newer wonka movie. It is completely a documentary about small businesses in America.
Even if they didnt mean to make it that way, which i highly doubt they didnt, it is.
You have the small business owner immediatley starting off in a neraly insurmountable debt, having a great product that all other companies want. Instead of simply trying to make their product better, they try to sabotage and bring down the superior product.
They pay the right people off, making them fat with cash, to bring hell upon these companies. I havent finished it yet, but there is alot behind this whimsical musical movie.
I may be off the rails, but its all here.
I remember hearing similarly from one of the Badlands guys. A couple weeks back on Badlands Story Hour they did "Barbie", it's woke but they were going into how it both gives insight into the minds of these crazy women but also how (and I've heard this before) it's an accidental men's rights film with the whole "Kensurrection" subplot. They also talked about how the writers try to play it as horror how fast most of the Barbies revert into tradwife mode just from the Kens suddenly acting like normal assertive men only to get annoyed that many Zoomer viewers found that appealing instead and sympathized with Ken.
Man, the Barbie movie was an ultimate troll against the liberals. It flew over many of their heads, but it pretty much made the case against feminism.
Wait, I thought the Barbie movie was totally woke, it wasn’t? I haven’t seen ir because if it. Maybe I should watch it now.
See its really hard to explain. It is indeed meant to be woke, but they do it in such an exaggerated silly fashion that it comes across as a slap on the face of the woke and ends up resulting in a movie that sends the exact opposite message.
Yeah, the intention is woke AF but it's so absurd it turns into a satire.
I haven't seen that badlands, and I must admit there is no chance of me watching barbie, however I do believe people can have different interpretations of nearly anything. And I think writers know how to take advantage of this.
I think all the "this movie is woke reviews" for Wonka waa so people didn't watch. Now is it revolutionary or anything, no. Honestly, most people that don't understand what is going on, wouldn't pick up on it. However, this is where the writers strike gold with people like me.
