I remember a family reunion we had in 1982 we went to Maryland because my uncle was stationed in DC at the pentagon. He was a medic in Vietnam. We visited the White House but got there too late for a tour so we just got out of our cars to walk up to the fence. I was a silly kid, I wanted a souvenir so I reached through the wrought iron fence and got a handful of grass!!! Put it in my pocket 😂😂😂 But I will say, I remember it like it happened yesterday. There was a group of people, maybe 12-15 marching in a circle carrying signs and shouting “HELL NO WE WON’T GO WE WONT FIGHT FOR TEXACO” I asked my daddy, what do they have against Texaco dad, go where exactly”. He said, they are just a bunch of hippies protesting war. (Still calling them hippies in 1982?) Geez I mean what. the. heck. WOW
