I talked to high school history teacher who had no idea that the Crusades were as response to 3 centuries of Muslim conquests. They had no idea that North Africa and the Levant were largely Christian prior to the muslim conquests.
The also did not know that the turks had conquered most of south eastern europe and twice attacked Vienna. They though Turkey was disadvantaged because of European colonization.
They didnt know that the turks and barbary pirates went as far as iceland to capture white females and young boys to be sex slaves.
They didnt believe me when I tried to them straight on those topics because I don't have a degree.
I've had experiences like that on other topics (I suspect most of us have on this board) and it's really frustrating.
Decades ago I knew a 20 yr old woman who suffered brain damage in a car accident; the doctors basically said "Too bad; you'll be disabled for the rest of your life; nothing we can do" and that was that. I knew of quite a few things that had been shown (many in Actual Studies) to help recover from such injuries but I'm not a doctor, so . . . I believe she's spent the last thirty years or so unable to live a normal life.
The family moved back to the Mother Country a year after the accident so I don't really know how she's doing.

Donβt forget the Druids, Vikings and Templers were on North American before Columbus
