"Legal reasons" was all Dallas Jenkins said but didn't clarify. Something between the shows creators and Angel Studios. Alot of backlash from fans after someone sported a pride flag behind the scenes and Dallas didn't fire this member.

As u/prayerwarrior419 said, they weren't specific about reasons, but it sounds like the typical restrictions that a theater distribution company imposes as a condition of a theater release. But if you can get your church to screen it, they apparently can get it for free already.
