I think they are just wanting a day to honor and thank you for the sacrifices you make. I'm not sure how much longer I have with my father, but since he gets that day off I will take that day to show him how much he means to me. Especially in the modern era of Hollywood bashing fathers. I want to take as many days, fathers day included, to show my appreciation for what he's done for me. I'm pretty sure your younguns feel the same.
