Every state has different rules for "squatters rights" and some folks mux things up with homesteader rules from back in the day. It would be wisest to read up on your state's regs, if you own any property you do not occupy. Some places would appear "abandoned" if mail hasn't been picked up in a week. People are afraid to go on vacation!
