I know a lock is the best deterrent but I’m just pissed that I not only lost an expensive stethoscope (can understand that walking away) but even personally bought hemostats and medical scissors have disappeared from my own locker, and even other people’s expensive Danskos that they keep under the changing bench have magically walked away on their own.
I know this isn’t Q related, or any other relation to what this board is about - I’m just asking for opinions from those who might have insight.
I’ll understand if this post is deleted, but there is a wealth of folks with knowledge in HR and such here I just thought I’d throw it out.
I don’t think I would rat them out, but if maybe they thought I would they would just go work somewhere else?
😬
First, I would go to HR.
Second, I would put up flyers in the break room with pictures of items that have been stolen. This will bring interest to others, in the event they have had things stolen as well. Then you’ll have more support with HR.
Thirdly, I would get a gun safe mount it, or secure it in your locker. Put your valuables in there. Including your ID or other things that you bring to work like your car, keys and stuff like that. You should definitely be locking up your car keys, because you have no idea that somebody might steal that as well, and try and go to your house and steal something else while you’re at work. They could easily find your address on your identification, or by going to your car and looking at your registration. If somebody stealing from you at work, they were definitely steal from you at home.

If you have to talk to somebody in maintenance to have them put that in there for you, you can do that as well. Just make sure that it’s solid and secure
If you have to put a locker inside of your locker, this will be a sign to the establishment that there’s a problem. Why would anybody want a thief, working in their establishment? I know that seems like a stupid question in 2024, but the answer should be no. Nobody should want that.
I’m not sure how to manage a camera in your locker. I would find out with the laws and the rules are, and make sure you’re not breaking one of them. You don’t want to lose your job because somebody else is a jerk. Also, if because of your video they end up losing their job,… I wouldn’t be surprised if they showed up at your house and cause problems for you. This person has no morals. So take that into consideration, if you’re planning on exposing somebody, and then finding out that it’s you.
Also… If you have a gun safe put in your locker, and the culprit comes through to steal stuff and finds the gun safe… they may reported to HR, then you’ll know who your culprit is. If they’re stealing from you, they’re probably some type of a liberal who hates guns. This would be a trigger point for them, no pun intended, and perhaps they would want to report you because they think you have a gun in your locker. 😂😂😂
But of course, why would they know, unless they had broken into your locker. Problem solved.
In the meantime, at least your belongings would be safe. The link that I posted has a fingerprint release so it wouldn’t be difficult to get in and out of.
