So if the homeowner calls the Police on squatters and they show a fake rental agreement the Police will tell the owner they don't get involved in civil matters.
Wouldn't that mean the best course of action for the homeowner with squatters is to go in when they're gone, haul all their shit to the dump, change the locks, and call the Police on the squatters when they return and say nothing except "these crazy people are waving around this fake lease trying to get into my home"? The Police should look at the lease and say, "we don't get involved in civil matters", right? If possession is 9/10ths of the law as far as the Police are concerned , then the person already in the place when they arrive should win the argument if there is any question who belongs there and the other party would get told to go to Court over it.
